Metro Misinformed, Part 7: This is not a Photo Op
Picture this lovely moment: On the red line, heading toward Glenmont near the zoo, the ever-elusive sliding doors open. A woman and two young girls board at the center doors. They turn and face the doors, and are basically posing in the doorway.
Oh wait, they're actually posing.
For a photo.
Grandma is on the platform, digital camera in hand. She is trying to capture this precious moment.
And then the doors close. Grandma now has a photo of the closed doors in front of her as she stands alone on the platform.
The little girls start calling out for their grandmother, so worried about her well-being. Grandma mouths that she'll get on the next train and see them at the next stop, but the girls have already almost lost their arms, bear-trap style, trying to get to grandma through those doors. Then, a man, a bystander: "Calm down. You'll see her at the next stop."
Your tip: Take that commemorative photo AFTER you all board the train. For bonus points, take photos of each other trying to do chin-ups on the moving Metro.
