Use Your Metro SmarTrip In Baltimore!
Among other sources, WTOP is reporting that transit leaders are planning to allow the use of the DC Metro system's SmarTrip cards on Baltimore mass transit by early next year. And vice-versa. We are definitely all for anything that utilizes technology to make mass transit easier and more accessible. So thumbs up to this move WMATA...this post receives a LOVE tag.
"Metro riders, how would you like to use you SmarTrip Card for a ride on the Baltimore subway or light rail system?"
Wait...Baltimore has a subway?

Interesting news.
Here in Baltimore, we have a single line of subway. There once was a plan to build a comprehensive system like DC has, but things fell thru. We also have a light rail and a comprehensive bus system.
if you're interested in a post explaining it...
another post about the subway, answering your question
I have a smart trip card I got in DC and able to use in Baltimore. The only problem right not you can't add a monthly pass on it. after you use it on the bus 2 times it'll convert into a daily pass
