Showing Love for the Tourists! (In Disguise)

First of all, I love We Love DC. And you should too. It's ok, I will allow you to be a fan of both blogs. Really!

They put up a very inclusive post all about what not to do on the Metro and how to make sure your experience as a tourist is enjoyable and your trips on the Metro successful. But most of all, it makes us frequent commuters happy by not having to have our unbearable commutes made any longer or anymore...well, unbearable, by mobs of tourists.

We've posted a lot about things we hate about tourists as well as tips and tricks to prevent yourself from being a hated tourist. But the 'internets' can never have enough info on how not to be a typical Washington, DC, "What stop is the museum at?", "It's hot and humid, let's relax by standing on both sides of this long escalator", fanny pack AND backpack carrying at the same time while trying to board a train during rush hour and not moving in because "There ain't enough space", tourists!

Check out WeLoveDC's big post of goodness here.

"Unwritten Metro Rule #3: Avoid the fare-gate shuffle. Aside from Rule #1, nothing is more aggravating to DC-ites when their perfectly-timed transit shuffle is foiled by a tourist who waits until they reach the fare gate to find their fare card or SmarTrip card. General rule of thumb? Pull it out when you reach the end of the escalator as you enter the station. That way, you won’t cause us to miss that split-second Red Line transfer and give you an earful."

This is all about trying to make sure you tourists enjoy your stay with us here and come back very soon. Really. Seriously. Please come back again and bring even more little kids with you. Can't wait!
