Fresh, New, Disgusting Metro Seats!

WeLoveDC has posted the included photo of a new train car on the Red Line with down-right disgusting seats. Original post here. What is that pattern? I definitely agree with the person who commented on that article, it looks like those nasty charter buses.

WMATA could pick anything they could ever possibly want for a pattern for these seats. I think almost anything other than what they picked would be acceptable. Who at WMATA gets paid to make these decisions? Who was thinking one day, while thumbing throw the "Subway Car Seats Catalog Spring '09" and said "OMG, I LUV these! They are perfect!"? Why do you have a job??

I know this is petty...they are seat colors. But seriously, there are a lot of tough, lose/lose decisions that Metro has to make. The least they can do is make great decisions on the easy crap. And it doesn't get much easier than choosing a seat color and pattern that is easy on the eyes and not visually offensive. Gross.
