MAJOR Red Line Delays

Just a bit of news amongst the commentary

From Metro:

Disruption at Bethesda. Trains are sharing the same track between Medical Center and Friendship Heights due to a train experiencing mechanical difficulties outside Bethesda station. Expect delays in both directions. Expected duration is up to 2 1/2 hours. Shuttle bus service has been requested.

I'm hearing this was a derailment, so it could be hours before it's cleaned up. Definitely find a way to check it out before you commit yourself to waiting an hour underground.
